One of a kind, handcrafted Teddy Bear Christmas Ornament titled: Bedtime for Teddy and his teddy.
This ornament was especially fun for me to make. I decorate our primary Christmas tree using bear ornaments exclusively so if this one doesn't sell, it will be hanging on our tree. But, as someone who thinks every tree needs at least one bear, I hope someone finds this as appealing as I do and gives it a good home.
I think this could be a baby's first Christmas ornament, a sweet gift for a child. This can be personalized.
It was this bear's time to become a new ornament. After deciding he wanted to be on this ornament shaped piece of wood, I needed to decide how to finish the raw wood. Since Teddy has a vintage feel (made in 1983 so not technically vintage) I looked through the images on this fabulous site I found with vintage style images in public domain and saw this image of a vintage TV. Giving my age away, this brought back childhood memories! I didn't need to look further, this was the one I wanted for the front. I added a sprinkling of acrylic gems to give it a little sparkle. For the back I used another vintage style image that had a bear in it.
The bear is a Gordon Fraser Schmid ceramic ornament. I printed the image of the TV on metallic paper. The image on the back is sealed with decoupage.
